Melissa Yow, a devoted mother, cherished daughter, and beloved family member, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 11th, 2024, due to complications following the birth of her healthy baby girl. She was 38 years old.
Born in the Chicago area, Melissa later moved with her family to Asheboro, where she completed high school. Her life was marked by a vibrant love for her family, an unyielding passion for nurturing her daughters, and a kindness that touched all who knew her.
Melissa leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication through her three daughters: Isabelle, Savannah, and newborn Aspen Francesca. She is survived by her loving mother, Athamandia Nickles; her sister, Amy George and her husband Brandon; her stepmother Pamela Villagomez; her uncles, Michael Nickles, DJ Nickles and his wife Margaret (also her godparents), and George Nickles and his wife Cindy. She also leaves behind her niece, Josephine; her cousin, Nichole; and numerous friends and relatives who will miss her deeply. Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Frank Villagomez.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, at Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in High Point, NC, officiated by Father Anton Frunza. Melissa's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of family bonds. She will be remembered as a caring soul whose warmth and generosity knew no bounds.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the The Ladies of Philoptochos for support of at-risk women. Melissa's memory will forever be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her.
