Monday, May 13,2024. Kenneth was born in Dallas, Texas on
October 1, 1957 to Bertha Caldwell Pitts and James W. Pitts.
He attended Windham where he received his GED. Kenneth was raised
to believe that Jesus is Lord. He married his first wife, Nina Townsend
Pitts in 1986 and his second wife, Jane Banks in 2015. Kenneth Pitts was
a devoted son, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He loved his
family very much; he took on roles as an uncle/dad and uncle/grandpa.
He was a devoted church member of Inner Peace Cathedral Community
Church. He did a lot for his church and he loved his church family.
Dec. Kenneth Pitts was ordained as a Deacon on March 6, 2016 under
the leadership of Bishop Ronald Hopes. He served at his church until he
got sick and couldn’t serve anymore.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, James Pitts; his sisters,
Debra Pitts and Phyllis King; brother, Harold Lacy; grandmother,
Blanche Rivers; aunt, Curtis Epps; and nephew, Robert Powell.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories; his mother, Bertha Pitts;
his kids, Towanna Townsend and Terrance Cushingberry; grandkids,
Shantaria Epps and Robbie Epps Jr.; great-grands, Keyuna and Jayden
Porter, Skylar and Chariti Royal and Shakur Washington; sisters, Flora
Pitts, Kebita Pitts and Sophia Lindsey; brothers, Robert Pitts (Beverly),
Ricky Pitts Sr. (Regina), Don Boyd and Eric Taylor; special friend, Maria
Jamison; and a host of family and friends that will truly miss him.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Carl Barnes Funeral Home, Inc, 746 W 22nd Street, Houston, TX 77008, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
