She was a member of St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Daughter’s of the King, and had a passion for volunteer organizations. In the 1970s, she was the founding director of the local Women’s Aglow Fellowship in the Clear Lake Area. In the 1980s, she moved to Alvin, Texas where she was the founding director of Alvin Meals on Wheels. She held this position for 10 years. She also operated a small business in dog breeding and ceramic doll making. She and her husband Tony moved to Cypress, Texas in 2001, to be closer to their daughter. In support of Tony’s interest in promoting bluegrass music, she organized and established Northwest Harris County Bluegrass Music Rising, which included a monthly bluegrass music show, local jam sessions, and a website for communications within the group. She was known for her hospitality and generosity. She cared more for others than herself, always extending a helping hand to whoever needed it. In addition to this, she was the most devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she loved the Lord.
She is survived by her husband Tony Redding, her son Kevin Redding and his wife Dara Foias, and her daughter Pamela Klapat and her husband Simon Klapat. Grandchildren Ariane Redding, Trevor Van Atta, Ty Van Atta, Dreyvn Klapat, and Emmi Klapat, and niece Janet Andrews.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, May 18th, 2024, at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (19915 Cypress Church Road, Cypress Tx, 77433). There will be a reception afterwards.
