It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andrew John Dettling III, a beloved husband, father and friend, who departed this world at the age of 63. Andrew passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 12, 2024.
Born on August 26,1960 , Andy lived a life marked by compassion, laughter, and love. He was a devoted husband to Monica, his wife of 39 years, and a cherished father to his two daughters, Alyssa and Caitlin.
Throughout his life, Andy touched the hearts of all who knew him with his kindness, his sharp wit, and ability to make you laugh.
Andy was an avid guitar enthusiast, and musician. He owned several beautiful guitars, and displayed the proudly. Hearing him play all forms of music each week in the home was a regular occurence, especially his favorite band Led Zeppelin or guitarist Al Di Meola.
His love of music was rivaled by his love of being a chef, often cooking new recipes he had discovered for family dinners. If you were lucky enough to taste his carefully planned menus during the holidays, you know exactly how talented he was.
He found joy in spending time with his family, especially cheering on his daughters at their marching band events, as as a member of the band's pit crew. He was also a huge sports fan, cheering on his beloved New York Mets and Jets.
Andy has as larger - than - life personality, and a welcoming and loving demeanor, and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service for Andy will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, TX 78641. Following the service, the family welcomes guests to stay for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St.Jude's or the American Heart Association in Andy's memory.
