Barbara Jean Easley was born in Provo, Arkansas on June 17, 1936, to the parents of Arvin and Flossie Helms. Barbara was the oldest of six siblings; that include James, Patsy, Billie Joe, Jerrel and Dwight.
She was raised and educated in Provo, Arkansas. After high school graduation she attended a business school in Shreveport, Louisiana. At her first job she was a secretary at Barksdale Air Force Base in Bossier City, Louisiana. She really enjoyed her time working there.
Barbara relocated to the downtown Dallas area and worked as a secretary. Then she met and married Carlos H. Easley. They had three children, that include Janet, Ken and Patti.
She loved her family and always said, "All her children were smart and beautiful." And most of all, she loved Jesus. She was saved at the early age of eight years old and said, "That Jesus gave her a good heart" and that changed her life forever.
Barbara was a mighty prayer warrior. Her goal for everyone was to "Keep your eyes on the cross" and "Keep Jesus in your heart". She left this earth for her heavenly home on May 15, 2024, at the age of eighty-seven.
Preceded in death by her husband, Carlos H. Easley; and her brother, James Roy Helms. The surviving family members include her three children, Janet Easley Ramos and her spouse (Michael Ramos), Ken Easley and his spouse (Lena Easley), and Patti Easley Guasco and her spouse (Tony Guasco).
And her siblings, Patsy Helms Skelton, Billie Joe Helms, Jerrel Helms, and Dwight Helms. Twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
