James “Jim” M. Bloom, 79, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at UW Madison Hospital. Jim was born April 27, 1945, in Rockford, to Martin “Mike” and Lillie “Toot” Bloom. He attended East High School before entering the United States Army for three years. Upon his return, he married the love of his life, Deanna Anderson on May 21, 1966. Jim was the owner of Bloom’s Computer Maintenance for many years before becoming semi-retired. He was a courtesy vehicle driver for Napleton’s here locally.
Jim was a member of the SM & SF Club, where he made many friends. He enjoyed a good game of golf, or a nice day fishing. He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. Throughout his life, he was always in the mood to watch a good Western, especially starring John Wayne.
He is survived by his children, Kristin (Michael) Giamalva and Martin (Erin) Bloom; grandchildren, Lacy, Emma, Kenley, and Braxtin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna; parents, Martin “Mike” and Lillie “Toot” Bloom; brother, Rollie Bloom.
