Obituary of Sean Michael O'Neill
Sean Michael O’Neill, 64, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 11th. He was the devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Southwick O’Neill, recently celebrating 45 years of marriage. Sean is survived by his loving children and grandchildren, Shannon O’Neill Beasley and husband Robert Leslie Beasley (grandchildren: Gabriel Alexander, Carliana Jean, and Nolan Michael), Shane Thomas O’Neill and wife Kendall Anne O’Neill (grandchildren: Raegan Leigh and Rilynn Elizabeth), and Ryan Patrick O’Neill and wife Brandy Barnes O’Neill (grandchildren: Emma Lynn, Jordyn Michelle, and Jackson Thomas). Born October 2, 1959 he was the son of the the late Joseph Bernard O’Neill of East Hartford, CT (grandparents: Nicholas and Hannah O’Neill, Brandon, Ireland) and Esther Mary Nolan of Athlone, Ireland (grandparents: Michael and Catherine Nolan of Athlone, Ireland). He was the loving brother to the late Kathleen O’Neill Wypychowski (husband, Conrad “Whip” Wypychowski),and is survived by his sister Eileen Anne O’Neill Verny (husband, Calvin Verny), and brother Joseph Bernard O’Neill, Jr. (wife, Janet Mary O’Neill). He is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews and by multiple cousins in the O’Neill, Nolan, and Berger families. Sean is survived by countless friends and colleagues, many of which were like family, from the Glad/Clorox Corporation, which he worked for in Connecticut and Virginia for 43 years. His expertise was invaluable as he helped to begin their Virginia operations in Amherst County. His work ethic throughout his life was a force to be reckoned with and his passion for serving youth sports was inspiring. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Whitten Monelison Chapel in Amherst County, VA with the Rev. Daryl Donald, and Rev. Douglas Turner officiating. The interment will take place at Allwood Cemetery in Monroe, VA at 2:45 p.m. A dinner reception will follow at New Prospect Baptist Church in Monroe at 4:30 p.m. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Sean was passionate about preserving the environment, https://vrarecycles.org, volunteering to support Amherst County youth sports and baseball MHYBA, and his church families at New Prospect Baptist Church - Home and Living Water Baptist Church https://lwbc.life/.
