Phillip N. McWilliams, age 66, passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2024, at home after an almost three year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 10th, 1957 in Springfield, New York to Edgar and Martha McWilliams and spent most of his childhood in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was a 1975 graduate of Messick High School, formerly in Memphis, TN and spent four years in the U.S. Navy after that. Two of those years included time on the USS Francis Hammond FF-1067 off the coast of Japan. He married Karen McWilliams on August 26th, 1989 at St. Stephens United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN.
Phillip worked for Kroger grocery stores in the Memphis area on and off for about 40 years. Phillip was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church for over 20 years. He enjoyed food and lots of it, spending time with his family (especially his grandkids who called him DD) and cheering on the Grizzlies, Tigers and Kansas City Chiefs.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Karen McWilliams; his daughter Britney Latham (Will); two grandchildren, Luke and Kaylee; an older sister, Holly Cameron (Jon); an older brother, Stan McWilliams; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
Family, friends and others are invited to Bartlett United Methodist Church with visitation starting at 10am and the service to start at 11am on Friday, May 10th, 2024, to reminisce and honor the life of Phillip.
