In loving memory of Eugene Barin Sr. who passed away on May 6, 2024 at the age of 89. He lived in Mesa, AZ with his wife of 70 years, Iona Barin, at his side. He passed away peacefully on Hospice care.
Eugene was born in Akron, Ohio on February 12, 1935. He served in the Army National Guard and completed a 4 year apprenticeship as a Machinist, Tool and Dye Specialist. He and his wife graduated together from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California in June, 1972.
Eugene and Iona were married on November 25, 1953. He was a residence of Aron, Ohio then moved to California in 1962.
He worked as a journeymen machinist and in Tool & Dye for his entire career. He was employed at Bridgestone America in Akron, Ohio, Firestone Stone in South Gate, California, McCulloch Tools in Lake Havasu, Arizona, Jan's Ironworks, Mesa, Arizona, and had Secret Clearance for US Air Force at Williams Field in Arizona.
He was a long time member of the Nazarene Church. He was a Boy Scout Leader. Eugene had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed doing homemade crafts for vacation bible schools and enjoyed doing wooden crafts for gift giving to loved ones. He was a valued member of his community, and was always ready to come to the aid and fix anything his neighbors and friends needed. Eugene was a dedicated Dodger baseball fan and enjoyed going on cruises with his wife, family, and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Iona Jane Barin, of 70 years. Father of 4 children; His daughter Iona Jean Barin and her husband James Brooks; Youngest son Eugene Barin Jr. and his wife Kristi Barin; and 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Norris J. Barin and Wilma Lemley Noland; 2 sons Frank Eugene Barin and Michael Norris Barin; 1 grandson, Donnie; 3 sisters Joanne Clark, Janise McClaine, and Juanita Huber.
Memorial services shall be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the following church:
