He was born March 26, 1947, in Riverside, New Jersey to the late Joseph Caruso Sr and Stella Caruso.
He is survived by his wife of 50 year, Sarah (Brandy) Caruso, sons: Joseph A. Caruso and James M. Caruso; grandson Joseph M. Caruso, all residing in New Port Richey, Florida. Brother, Barry Caruso, Clearwater, Florida.
He served in the United Air Force for 20 years and DoD Civilian Service for 27 years. During these years, either as active-duty military or civilian service, he was stationed Loring AFB, ME, Andrews and Bolling AFBs, D.C, Rhein Mein AB, Germany, MacDill AFB, FL, Anderson AFB, Guam, Tyndall AFB, Fl, Langley AFB, VA and Goodfellow AFB, TX.
During his tour in Vietnam, he was a disc jockey, providing morale support to the troops and received numerous commendations for his service. He was also a member of an F-16 flying group known as "Misty'. He remained loyal friends with the "Misty's", respecting and honoring their service to their country.
He enjoyed helping people, being a part of his community, spending time with family and friends, being outside doing anything in the yard , bowling, and any sports team dealing with Philadelphia, PA.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison St, New Port Richey, FL with a Life Well Celebration at 6:30 PM on Monday. Military funeral services will be conducted when Joseph is transferred to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
