Wanda Lea Ramsey Trent, age 87. Of New Tazewell, TN was born on May 4, 1937 and gained her heavenly wings on May 5, 2024 at her home. She was born in Mulberry Gap Community of Hancock County Tennessee. She was saved at a very young age and always loved sharing her faith in God. She was a faithful member of the Midway Baptist Church for several decades. She loved serving her savior including teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Women on Missions, and was instrumental in starting the Keeping in Touch ministry in 2003. She was passionate for missions and served as the WMU director. She served as the assistant church clerk for many years. She loved her church and continued to pray and support even when she was unable to attend. She loved giving and caring for others. She was an avid gardener and could make a rock sprout roots with her loving friend Melody Helton who helped her at the cabin. She loved sharing her beautiful cabin with others.
Wanda and Kenneth were employed at Coffey Funeral Home for many years where they touched many lives and served their community. Both Wanda and Kenneth had a calling in serving families who suffered grief and they loved helping others. They loved their Coffey Funeral Home coworkers and valued the friendships and working relationships. Wanda was employed at the funeral home for 31 years and Kenneth was employed for 40 years.
Wanda was born to the late Roy and Hazel Ramsey. She was married to the love of her life, the late Kenneth H Trent for 44 wonderful years where they focused their lives on each other, their loving family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Ramsey (Faye), Lester Ramsey (Angie), Andy Ramsey (Jewel) and sister Marynell Greer (Tip), and daughter-in-law-Shelia Trent.
Wanda (Mom and Nana) is survived by her daughter, Debbie Trent King (Tim) of Johnson City, TN; her son, Rev. Kenny Trent of New Tazewell TN.; grandchildren Heather King, Lacey Morton (Dusty), Cassie Taylor (Jordan), Caroline Long (Cody), and Clarissa Trent; great grandchildren Isabella Morton, Branson Morton, and Landry Taylor and October 2024 baby Taylor; and Sister-in-law Phyllis Price (Rodney) of Gray Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice nurse’s, CNA’s, Chaplin’s, and Social Workers for the great care and support during her illness. A special thanks to the great care givers and friends, Brittany Bailey, Kathyleen Delph, Misty Ferguson. Sherry Rich, and Penny Wilson. A special thanks to David and Pam Trip for the special love and assistance. Wanda loved her Creed Way neighborhood community and enjoyed the community outings with the group where they solved all of the community and world issues in just a few hours. And most of all, they laughed and enjoyed their time together.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 7, 2024 from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:00 P.M. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services on Wednesday May 8, 2024 AT 11 A.M. in the Fairview Cemetery.
