Jane Ann Witmeier
April 22, 1940 – May 13, 2024

Jane Ann Witmeier, 84, of Newburgh, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. She was born April 22, 1940 in Evansville to the late Lester and Geraldine (Collier) Schoening.
In her early years she was employed at Peerless Pottery and Sears Department Store. She owned her own consignment shop called Barbara Jane’s. She enjoyed line dancing and taught others to dance. More recently she looked forward to socializing at Newburgh Senior Center. Jane especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Witmeier; and sister, Delores Rapp.
She is survived by son, Ray Witmeier (Robyn); and daughter, Rachelle Witmeier all of Newburgh; grandsons, Erik Witmeier (Lindsay Ritter), Ethan Clark, Anthony Witmeier and Zachary Hatfield (Meagan Foster); Loving brother, Jerry Schoening of Virginia, and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261. Family and friends may visit Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Newburgh Senior Center and Ride Solutions for allowing her to continue her social activities. They are very appreciative of AseraCare Hospice for their exceptional care and support along with the personal caregivers Carly, Amy Jo, Sharon, and Aunt Janet.
