Barbara is survived by her brother, Jeffrey Davis of Vienna, GA; Deedra Davis Lee of Winder, GA, and several nephews and nieces.
Barbara was born in Cordova, Alabama. She graduated from Walker County High School. Barbara enjoyed meeting people. When living in Mississippi, she began a lumber supply store with her late husband K.W. Smith in order to talk and help as many people as possible. She also owned a convenience store for several years.
Barbara was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nettleton MS. She was a part of many events at the church. Barbara also enjoyed travel and missionary work. She took several trips to Haiti, and Belize to participate in missionary work. Barbara enjoyed cruises and trips to the beach. Her favorite trip that she talked about was the trip that she took with her sister, Deedra, to Israel. In Israel, they participated in guided tours, and created tours of their own.
Barbara had a love for the University of Alabama. She would enjoy watching Bama games during football season. As she demonstrated at two of her great nieces' weddings, Barbara loved to dance. She ditched her walker and would begin leading others insisting that they do what she was doing. Her sister Deedra would talk about how she and Barbara would dance anytime singers would come to the facility that they live at.
Her favorite Bible verse to quote is Psalm 118:24. This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home, 3802 Watermelon Road, Northport, AL 35473 followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 AM at Wiley Community Cemetery.
