Daniel “Danny” Slay, Sr., beloved husband, father, and friend joined his heavenly father May 9th at the age of 77. He was born on April 10, 1947 in Jackson, Mississippi to George Dewey Slay and Maggie Delia Slay. Danny was known for his kindness, humor, love of people and his unwavering love for his family.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, Monday, May 13, 2024, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Memorial services will follow at 6:00pm.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Carol Slay. His children, Dianna Preteroti, Tammy Slay, Dana Gresham(Rick), Kristy Wooten(Michael), Daniel Slay (Michelle) and his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. Danny will be deeply missed by his extended family and friends.
Danny was a dedicated Pawn Shop operator and collector of unique things for 30 years where he made many lasting friendships and contributions to his community. He has a passion for Antique cars, Mississippi Street Rod Car Club and spending time with his family and friends. He had a contagious laughter, smile and the most beautiful blue eyes. A heart full of generosity, best hugs in the world and always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Danny’s assurance in knowing the Lord gave him the comfort and peace to assure his wife, children, grandchildren and friends that he would be ok and would see them again.
His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. He was so easy to love. He will rest in peace with his Heavenly Father and the love and warmth he brought to the world.
