Nettie Mae (Covington) Brown, age 97, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2024, with her family by her side.
Nettie was born in Munson, Florida, August 8, 1926 to James Monroe and Lena Mae (Prescott) Covington. A month later, the Hurricane of 1926 destroyed their home and the family moved to Holley, Florida where she grew up on East Bay. She attended Holley School and Milton High School.
In 1943 she met and married Aaron Tillman Brown, Sr. They raised three children together.
Nettie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Olen James Covington and Shelly Covington; sisters, Alice Inez Waters and Nellie Idell Broxson; daughter, Sherry Gay Bunch; grandsons, Michael Kroll and Shawn Bunch; and great-great grandson, Joshua.
She is survived by daughter, Joy Meixner (Joe); son, Aaron T. Brown, Jr. of Pensacola; son-in-law, Robert W. Bunch of Crestview; grandchildren, Kelly Kroll, Kevin Kroll, Rob Bunch and Brian Bunch; great grandchildren, Brandon J. Broxson, Joshua Kroll, Trace Kroll, Tanthalas Bunch, Summer Bunch Huckaba, Raistlin Bunch and Briannon Bunch; great-great grandchildren, Krissy Kroll, Joshua Kroll, Tara Powell, and Aurora Huckaba; many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
She came from a loving family and carried that love with her always.
A visitation for Nettie will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Pensacola, Florida. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel, Pensacola, Florida followed by a reception. An interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
