She was born in 1942 to Cleveland and Willie Mae Clark in Muskogee, Oklahoma. In Oklahoma she was raised on a farm by her grandmother Eliza Crawford; at this time she attended elementary school until age 10. She also attended school in Palm Springs and Banning, along with San Bernardino, California.
In 1959 she graduated from San Bernardino High School. Continuing her education, she attended San Bernardino Valley College and the United School of Nursing where she graduated in 1962.
She retired from nursing in 1984 from Loma Linda University Medical Center. Upon moving to Arizona she transitioned into doing private duty nursing. She has attended New Hope for over twenty years. Her hobbies included taking care of her great-grandchildren, quilting, fishing traveling, the music at New Hope and working in her yard.
Her children are Dennis R. (Dawn) Parker, Darnell (Sharon) Coles, Darlene (John) Crepeau, Dunta R. Chattman, Robert McGhee, and Helene McGhee. All fathers have preceded her in death. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Carlos Andrews, DeAnna Marie Sequoia, Darnell Coles Jr., Jared Coles, Zachary Parker, and several great-grandchildren. Her sisters and brother are Nellie Cotton, John Bowers, Mary Pace, Margaret Tobias, Dorothy Watts (deceased), and Gloria Butler.
No one could match her love for all of her family and friends.
