With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Anneliese Marie Block, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who peacefully left us on May 3, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on December 5, 1927, in Medingen, Germany, to Hermann and Emma Swenson. Anneliese was one of 10 children.
Anneliese's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering strength. In 1948, Anneliese married the love of her life, Eberhard Block, and together they embarked on a journey of love and adventure. In 1956, they courageously immigrated to the United States, settling in Gresham, Oregon, with their four young children. Anneliese's profound devotion to her family knew no bounds, and her love and tenacious sprit created a home filled with warmth and laughter.
Anneliese is survived by her daughter, Jutta Pinegar of Beaverton; sons, Volker Block of Yamhill and Eberhard W Block Jr of Portland; sister, Ursula Guillford of Sheridan; eight cherished grandchildren; and eight beloved great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love and strength will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
