Lynetta’s family moved around often after the passing of her father when she was an infant, and she lived in Oklahoma, Alabama, and Washington before settling in Portland, where she was a 1969 graduate of Franklin High School. She then studied construction at P.C.C. Rock Creek, and later attained a certification in Kitchen Design (CKD), which she used for several years at Home Depot, where she earned the coveted shrink-wrapping of her car upon her retirement. She also worked as an instructor’s assistant in ESL classes, particularly with the Southeast Asian community.
On September 26, 1970, she married Robert Wayne Allenbrand in Portland. She enjoyed toll painting at home and for others and creating stained glass, and would also donate her time helping to prepare meals for the homeless in shelters.
Mrs. Allenbrand is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert Allenbrand, and by their children, Krysti Osckle and her husband Chuck and their children Bryce and Easton, and Jason Allenbrand and his wife Amy and their son Zander. She will also be remembered by her brother Max Bolin and her sister Elaine Druse.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations in Lynetta’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice working within the homeless community.
