Frank was born May 11, 1926 in Vestal, New York to the late Flora Emma Jager and Edgar Brearley. He graduated from Vestal High School in 1944. Upon graduation he was employed with IBM, working his way up to Mechanical Engineer, retiring after 43 years of service, in 1987. He relocated to Raleigh in 1965, where he was an active member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and Providence Baptist Church. For many years, Frank was a member of the counting team at both St. Mark's as well as Providence. Mr. Brearley enjoyed woodworking, including building the shelves for the library at St. Mark's UMC.
Frank is survived by his son, David Brearley, and his wife, Lynn, of Knightdale; sister-in-law, Marie McClure of Durham; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, Raleigh. Officiating was Rev. Dave Owen.
