Joe was born on August 20,1956 in Anchorage, Alaska. He was raised in a tight group of seven brothers. With his father in the military, he lived in many places throughout his youth including Alaska, Texas, Nebraska, and California. The Payne brothers were a fierce force led by Joseph and his older brother Carl. In Connecticut, he fathered two children and settled down with his wife of 25 years, Jodi Payne. He loved working as an auto technician. He was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed spending time in the Caribbean and fishing.
Joe was preceded by his father, mother, 2 brothers, Carl Jr., Samuel Payne and grandson Jeremiah. He is survived by his wife, Jodi Payne and her nieces, Heidi and Holli; his son, Joseph Payne and wife Krista and grandchildren Joseph and Noah; his daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband Byron and grandchildren Lydia, Tahliya, Audrey, and Benjamin. He also leaves behind brothers; Bernard, Ronn E, Ernest, Anthony and LaKelsey and many other nieces, nephews, and friends.
In his lifetime and with many medical conditions, Joe was able to defeat the odds over and over again. He had the mindset of a champion. He was a man of many seasons; good and bad. He loved his wife, kids, brothers, nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was not the type to show emotions but most knew how to decipher that rough exterior of his; especially when he would yell “HOW BOUT DEM COWBOYS”. Joe did life his way. There is only one Joe Payne! He will be deeply missed.
