He is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Dr. Jacquelyn “Jacqui” D. Elliott and his son-in-law, Ruben Moreno; his granddaughter, Kristin M. Waddle and grandson Lukas Moreno; his step-sister Wendy Warren; his step-son and wife, Nicklaus Taylor and Taylor Taylor; and his ex-wife Scarlett Taylor Brown. He is preceded in death by his loving wife (and mother of Jacqui) of 30 years, Kathie L. Elliott and her parents Earl D. and Shirley F. McCown. He had many close friends and care companions, among whom Gloria Wilson, Victoria Viviani, Christina Green, Vince Scherrer, and Pete Taylor played a special and loving role in his last years.
Jack was born in Miami, FL and raised in Coral Gables, FL. He is the son of Harry “Jack” B. and Jayne (Milam) Elliott. Jack later lived in Long Beach, California before settling in Goochland, VA with his family.
Directly after high school, Jack joined the Army and then went on to work in the banking and mortgage business in California. After moving to Virginia, he worked for the Virginia “State Farm” as a corrections officer before joining the Goochland County Sheriff's Office, where he served until his retirement as Investigative Sergeant of the Criminal Investigation Division.
Mr. Ellott focused on a good day’s work each day and prided himself on treating everyone with dignity and respect. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. Throughout his long career, he forged many friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Jack had a passion for motorcycle riding and traveling. He and his daughter took a trip together every year exploring America’s national parks and went by motorcycle as often as they could. His last trip by car was in July 2023, which he called his “last hurrah” traveling back to Virginia to see his friends and colleagues at the Goochland Sheriff’s Office. He loved spending time over good food with family and friends and looked forward to Christmas every year. He was fun-loving until the end and will be missed by all who knew him.
A small family memorial service will take place in June in Bradenton, FL, and a second memorial will take place for his family and friends in Virginia in late summer.
Donations may be made in his honor to either the Blue Knights VA Chapter V at PO Box 9334, Chesapeake, VA 23321 or Tidewell Hospice of Bradenton (FL) https://tidewellfoundation.org/donate/
