Jerald “Mo” Wayne Malone Sr. was born December 2, 1946, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Johnie Malone Sr. and Wanda Marie (Heath) Malone. Mo went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2024 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Jerald graduated from Shawnee High School with the class of 1965. After High School he joined the United States Air Force and worked at Tinker Air Force Base, eventually working as a Flight Chief back in the fighter days. He Served for 29 years in the military and retired as a Senior Master Sargent. Jerald was extremely Proud of his career and service to his country and to be a veteran like his father before him. While in the military Jerald attended Rose State College earning an Associate degree. After Retiring, Jerald worked with his wife’s family’s business, Mid State Waste Management, keeping computer records and billing as well as regularly scheduled maintenance of the trucks. After the business was sold in 1999, he and his son Keith started a small machine shop business called B & M Machine Shop. He enjoyed tinkering and doing small jobs for various farmers and businesses. He formed personal relationships and tried to fabricate as many parts as possible, always keeping prices fair and affordable.
Jerald enjoyed working on cars and fixing things around the house, or for others. He was always up for a good challenge in the Machine shop and always found a way to create what was needed. Jerald Loved any project if it included riding a tractor, He called it his Tractor Therapy. He also took pride in helping his kids and grandkids learn. Jerald was a great teacher to all; he would show you by doing it once, then supervise as you finished the job. Always teaching and making us all better humans. He enjoyed spending time with his brothers, going to auctions and going down to Gary and Mary Beth’s Ranch in Texas.
On November 12, 1994, Jerald married the love of his life, Debora Sue Bowie, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. They had met several years before at a pool tournament at Cowtown. She beat him in a pool game and the rest was history. Together they created an amazing Family. Jerald Loved all his family. He was extremely proud of all their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He had been so excited for the arrival of the two great grandkids that were on the way. He would often brag about each of them to whoever he may find to talk to. Jerald loved to have family gatherings and getting the whole family together. He was blessed to have a very tight knit family whom he Loved unconditionally.
Jerald enjoyed trips with Debora to Las Vegas and Tunica, Mississippi. They had a love for casinos and enjoyed playing here and there.
Jerald was preceded in death by his loving Wife, Debora Sue Malone and his parents Johnie Malone and Wanda Marie (Heath) Malone. Jerald is survived by Son, Tom Gerber and wife Pam of Mesa, Arizona; Daughter, Anna Sanchez and husband Robert of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Daughter, Michelle Elliott and husband Anthony of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Son, Keith Bowie and wife Crystal of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Grandkids: Stevi Sexton, Brennon Lovejoy, Elaina Anderson and husband Mataeo, Payton Sanchez and fiancé Megan, Amanda Powell and husband Colten, Alex Elliott, Caitlin Gibson and husband Bryan, Dravin Bowie and wife Mary, Bradin Bowie and fiancé Lorin, Autumn Bowie, Corbin Bowie, and Hannah Malone; Great Grandkids: Forrest and Waverly Gibson, Jeannie Jenkins and fiancé Levi, Richard Camacho, Alicia Blomquist, Antonia Matasci and fiancé Gray, and Bonni Sue Bowie; Great-Great Grandkids: Emma Jenkins and Ava Bishop; Brother Gary Malone and wife Mary Beth of Rockwell, Texas; Brother David Malone and wife Jeannie of Meeker, Oklahoma; Brother Johnie Malone Jr. and wife Susie of Shawnee, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. Special mentions to Cousins Danny White and wife Shirley and Brenda Hughes and husband Lowell; Friends: Johnny Maxwell and Ian Formanski, and the 507th Okies.
Jerald (Mo) made a positive impact on the lives of so many. He was a teacher to all that were willing to learn, yet he loved to learn new things. He Loved Big and Cherished all his family and friends. He enjoyed reminiscing and telling his life stories. He was Ornery and Fun to be around. His Smile was contagious, and his Hugs were heartfelt. Jerald will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Jerald will be held Friday, May 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A funeral service will occur Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 44909 Highway 3, Shawnee, OK 74801. A committal service will occur Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 16006 S Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK 74801.
