Leland H White, age 94 passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. Leland Harvel White, 94, passed away at home on Monday March 20, 2023. He was born on February 24, 1929 in Scotland Neck, North Carolina to the late Lewis and Annie White. He is predeceased by a baby girl; a son, James; a grandson, Steven; five sisters, Annie Bell, Katie, Susie, Ivory and Velma; three brothers, Louis Edward, Alvin, and Venable. Leland is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Beatrice Manning White; a daughter, Linda Staylor and husband Greg; a son, Garry White and wife Jackie; four grandchildren, Lee, Sarah, Melanie, and Cameron; six great grandchildren, Rocky, Ashley, Andrew, Olivia, Adalynn, and Colbie; and many extended family and friends. He will be truly missed. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 12 PM Noon at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennett’s Creek Chapel and the funeral service will be held at the same location at 1 PM and will be officiated by Rev. Waverly Smith. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will be welcomed at the family home after the funeral.
