McNeill, 53, of Sydney Forks. Lynn passed at home on May 7th, 2024 surrounded by family,
after a courageous four-year battle with cancer.
Lynn was the daughter of Clifford and Eileen (MacDonald) McNeill of Sydney Forks.
Lynn is survived by her mother Eileen, siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces and
nephews, friends, and her beloved dog Diesel.
Lynn was predeceased by her father Clifford McNeill, sister Jean McNeill, brother-in-law
Kevin Carrigan, niece Vicki McNeill, and close friend Alanna Conn.
Lynn was a very proud mother to her son, Justin and daughter, Meaghan, as well as
grandmother to Paisley and Delilah, who were her pride and joy.
Lynn and her mom shared many great memories, even more so since 2016 when her
mother moved in with her – watching movies and crime shows together every night, and arguing
where they recognize an actor/actress from. Justin being her ‘first-born’, their mother-son bond
was very strong – he was her calm in any storm. Lynn always had a list of things for him to do
around the house, watching him do his carpentry work made her proud. Meaghan being her
daughter and mini-me, they shared many of the same interests, specifically their love of country
music and they attended many concerts together. Lynn was very proud and adamant that
Meaghan finish her nursing program no matter how crazy things got. Lynn loved and cherished
her time with ‘her girls’ Paisley and Delilah, when they came to ‘grammas house’, she was
always waiting on the step with her arms open. Lynn enjoyed spending much of her time outside
in her ‘oasis’, drinking tea and playing Rummikub with her sister/best-friend Kim, and her boy
D, planning their next adventure. Many great memories were shared between Lynn and her
nieces and nephews – she was very good at staying in touch with them, ensuring everyone got
together frequently, and her love for their children was proudly shown.Lynn could always bring a
smile to anyone’s face with her sarcastic charm and carefree spirit. No one was idle when Lynn
was around!
Lynn worked at Sobeys, Mayflower Mall for many years until joining her Sport Chek
family in 2007 where she met many of her lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Center, VON or
Palliative care.
