Michael Mouse was born on December 11th, 1962 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Robert Mouse Sr. and Nancy (Walker) Mouse. He was raised along with six brothers and four sisters, Robert Jr., Jody, Clifford, David, Marvin, Jackie, Dora, Lucy, Nora and Cora. He grew up in Moody and attended school in Tahlequah. He loved playing fast pitch and track. He graduated and started work at Midwestern Container and Barnsdall Plumbing. He started a family and was the proud father of three sons, Kevin Mouse, Kris Mouse, and Kurtis Mouse. He adored his sons and their families, and loved time spent with them whenever he could. He enjoyed taking the boys and heading toward the river for a little swimming and catching some crawdads. He never missed a game that his family played in and he was his grandchildren’s biggest fan. He enjoyed teaching them old traditional ways such as a good meal of “Dogheads” (cornmeal and bean balls fried), wild onions and watercress. He would venture to the casino and spend time with his friends and enjoyed talking to his acquaintances there. Then there was the change. It was while he attended Johnson Prairie Baptist Church he became a faithful member who devoted his life to Christ his personal savior, and at this time, his casino trips stopped. While attending Johnson Prairie Baptist he became a Sunday School Teacher, also serving on the food and building committees, and took the time to be the church candy man during Christmas. He was kind hearted and never turned his back on his fellow human beings. His sense of humor knew no boundaries. He would tease and joke around, always in good fun. Whenever he got the chance, he traveled all over the countryside, visiting friends and sharing his stories, and he had some stories. The Lord called this kind and gentle man home from his many labors on May 9th, 2024 in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those he knew and loved. Michael was 61 years old and leaves an empty chair that will never be filled.
Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Price and Nancy (Sappsucker) Mouse and Sallie Agent. He joins his mother and father, Robert and Nancy (Walker) Mouse Sr., his beloved son, Kevin Mouse in 2020, his sisters, Lucy Overacker and Dora Vance, and his brothers, Robert Mouse Jr., Jody Mouse, Clifford Mouse, and David Mouse. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Kris Mouse and wife Mallory and Kurtis Mouse of Tahlequah, OK.
He leaves two brothers and two sisters, Marvin Mouse, Jackie Mouse, Nora Weaver and Cora Vann, all of Tahlequah. He lives on in his four grandchildren, K’Lee Mouse, Kenzee Mouse, Kyndle Mouse and Cashon Mouse, as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends and loved ones far too numerous to mention.
