Born on August 13, 1934 and raised in Peterborough, England, Daphne lived a full and vibrant life. She was the adoring wife of William “Bill” Nicholls, who predeceased her in 1997. Together, they raised a family of two boys (and later a granddaughter) who will forever cherish her memory.
Daphne was a devoted mother and grandmother, who took great pride in caring for her family. She had a sharp wit and uncanny sense of humor. She was an exceptional gardener and could almost always be found tending to her flower and rose gardens. Daphne enjoyed reading, puzzles, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was an avid fan of Engelbert Humperdinck and loved to go through old pictures with her family. She was also a talented singer and a pioneer for women in realty and Toastmasters International. She dedicated the latter part of her life to assisting veterans with obtaining their military benefits.
Daphne was a wealth of knowledge and acceptance, giving her loved ones sage advice or a much needed hug. She was a kind and generous soul who always put others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, her gentle nature, and her unwavering love.
Daphne is survived by her son Neil, sister Dorothy, 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Brett, sister Norma and brother Cecil.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm at Woodstock Funeral Home. Any donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in Daphne’s honor.
Rest in peace, dear Daphne. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
