

Deborah Adele Frolek passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at a the age of 75.
Born on August 23, 1950, in Edmonton, Alberta, Deborah found her true home when she moved to the ranch in Knutsford at the age of 17. It was there that she built a life rooted in hard work, determination, and a deep love of the land.
For more than 30 years, Deborah served as the Executive Director of the Kamloops Child Development Centre. She was deeply committed to supporting children and families in her community, and her leadership, compassion, and dedication left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Deborah embraced the outdoors and the ranching lifestyle she loved. She took pleasure in cooking for family and friends, was an avid skier, pilot and enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and spending time with her horses. Whether in the kitchen, on the ranch, or out in nature, she found joy in life's simple pleasures and in sharing them with those she loved.
Deborah was predeceased by her partner Chuck Nikkels, her mother, Barbara Falardeau, and her father, David Garner. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lark Frolek-Dale, and son-in-law, Kenny Dale; Lark’s Dad Dennis Frolek (Peggy); in-laws Ray & Donna Frolek, and Lucille Dempsey; Brother Bob Garner; and by Lee Patjas (Brad), who became like a second daughter to Deborah. She also shared a special bond with Lee's children, Izaak and Aysia, who lovingly knew her as Grandma Deb.
Deborah is also fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew, whose lives she touched with her love and kindness.
Deborah will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and the love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and community. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched, both personally and professionally.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Deborah's life will be announced at a later date. The family encourages those who knew Deborah to honor her memory by spending time outdoors, sharing a meal with loved ones, or extending kindness to others—values that she embodied throughout her life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at AgeCare for the compassionate care, and dignity they provided to Mom during her time there. Your support and dedication will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
