It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lyne Wong.
Lyne passed away peacefully on May 15, surrounded by the love of her family, and now joins our dearly missed father, Derek Wong.
Lyne first met Derek in China around 1968. After a brief courtship, they married and moved to Kamloops to begin their new life together. Before long, they were blessed with two sons, Wayne and Andy.
In 1973, they moved to Nakusp and opened the Dumont Restaurant. Their hard work and dedication eventually led them to build and open the Manor Restaurant in 1986. After proudly serving the community for nearly 30 years, they sold the business in 2003 and retired to Vancouver to be closer to family and friends.
Lyne had a deep appreciation for family, community, and simple acts of kindness. She held a special place in her heart for Nakusp and its wonderful people. The friendships she made, the memories she created, and the sense of belonging she found there remained close to her throughout her life.
Lyne will be lovingly remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, quiet strength, and generosity. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to those around her, and her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
Our family is deeply grateful for the kindness, love, and support shown during this difficult time.
