Betty Jo Kistler, 80 years old, passed away in Tallahassee, FL on June 9, 2012.
Known as B.J. to her friends, she was born to Sanford and Mamie Lou Jerkins on March 16, 1932 in Lacoochee, Florida in Pasco County. She married Richard Kistler on August 17, 1952 at Bay Haven Baptist Church in Sarasota. She retired after many years working in office administration for several businesses in the building industry. She and Richard were very active members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. They spent much of their retirement traveling with their friends and family and serving in many charitable activities with the Eagles.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Putnam and her husband Paul, granddaughters, Kristi Spillers (Lee) and Katrina McMillan (William), great-grandchildren, Marshall, Luke and Kenna Rose McMillan and Karmen Spillers, all of Tallahassee, and her sister, Eloise Green of St. Petersburg. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard.
Betty Jo will be remembered always as a loving woman that was full of life. A private memorial service will be held at Sarasota Memorial Gardens on Saturday, July 21 at 11am.
