Dorothy Jones

She was born January 2, 1918 in Salisbury NC to the late Henry Clifton Wallace and Ruby Hoover Wallace and moved to Charlotte at the age of 4

Dorothy graduated from Central High School in Charlotte. She was of Covenant United Methodist Church for over 40 years, where she was a member of the women’s Sunday School Class. She was employed with Belk Department Store for over 20 years. Dorothy loved to travel and spent many vacations at the beach and in the mountains.

She left us with many memories of wonderful times together. Dorothy was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Howard William Jones, her brother Warren Wallace, her son Ronald Jones and granddaughter Kimberly Jones

She is survived by her son Wayne Jones and wife Betty, daughter Carolyn Horne and husband Ernie, daughter in law Connie Jones, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West in Charlotte on May 30th, 2015at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
