In loving memory of Joseph Edwin LeRoy, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, passed away at the age of 77. He is leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. Joseph was the loving husband of Constance S. LeRoy. Caring father to Dawn LeRoy Taylor (Darrin) and Kim LeRoy Pizzitolo (Michael). Proud grandfather of Scott Maillet Jr. (Brianna), Raymond Armand III (Kristen), Lauryn Armand-Beckwith (Sean) and Peyton Taylor; great-grandfather of Jose Maillet and Mila Maillet; brother to Juanita Gilbert and John L. LeRoy (Lillian). He is preceded in death by his parents, John Louis LeRoy Sr., and Mildred Roger LeRoy.
Born in Donaldsonville, LA on January 21, 1947, Joseph graduated from high school in 1966, embarking on a fulfilling journey of hard work and commitment. As an electrician, he lent his skills to the Avondale Shipyard for two decades, contributing to the maritime industry's vitality. Later, he found fulfillment at LSU Medical, where he dedicated 23 years of service before retiring. Beyond his professional achievements, he served his country with pride as a member of the National Guard, embodying the spirit of duty and honor. Among his passions, he found solace in the open road, cruising on his beloved Harley Davidson. His craftsmanship extended beyond wires to woodwork, where his creativity and precision shone brightly.
Yet, Joseph's greatest source of joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family. His love was boundless, his laughter infectious, and his presence deeply missed.
All those whose lives Joseph has touched are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 11:00AM- 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow in ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL GARDENS.
