Born in Ribare, Yugoslavia (Serbia) on March 12, 1933, Nada immigrated to Canada in 1967 with her two daughters, Zora Butler (Ilic) and Anna Poch (Seles). She was fiercely dedicated to her family, relocating to Alberta to support Zora in raising her daughters Crystal Butler and Jen Ilic. Nada was the center of their family unit; taking care of those she loved was her purpose and it brought her so much joy. Rarely seen without a crochet hook or knitting needle in hand, Nada devoting her time and talents to provide comfort to others by donating hand-made blankets to Project Linus, Quilts of Valor, and the Nanaimo Community Hospice Society. She was a constant source of strength, resilience, and support, and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Nada is survived by her daughter Zora, granddaughters Crystal and Jen, her daughter Anna, son-in-law Louis Poch, and grandchildren Kat Poch, L.J. Poch, and Adam Poch.
A private service will be held on Thursday, May 9 at Courtenay Civic Cemetery.
