Santiago was born in Dallas, Texas on March 3, 1940, to Aurelio and Mary Gonzalez. Santiago was married to Maria Luna Gonzalez.
Santiago grew up in West Dallas, (Ledbetter). He and his family all lived on the same street (Clymer) for several years before most eventually moved out to grow their families in other areas. He worked as a truck driver for the family business in the early 1970’s, and by the late 70’s he eventually ventured out on his own an became a semi-truck driver and built his own business with his late son Jimmy Gonzalez. In 2010, he retired from the truck driving business. As many of know, he was one not to stay stagnant in his life, so he then decided to became a truck driving instructor for Weatherford College in 2012 before retiring completely in 2019. Santiago enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife, family and vacation partners for most of his life. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends and if you ever attended any of his holiday parties, it was obvious that the family enjoyed his company as well.
