Shelly passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 27, 2024, after a courageous battle at the age of 52. On May 13, 1971, she was born in Fresno, California to John and Joyce Johansen.
Shelly grew up in the Madera and Fresno areas. She was a 1990 Fresno High School Graduate. Shelly was a part of the Fresno High School wrestling team where she was a scorekeeper. Throughout her high school years, she attended a medical program at Duncan Poly in Fresno, where she gained college credits to transition into nursing school. Shortly after high school she completed the nursing program at Clovis Adult School becoming an LVN. In May 1997, she gave birth to her daughter Megan.
In the span of her nursing career of 20 years, she worked at both Fresno and Madera Department of Corrections. Shelly absolutely loved being a nurse. She devoted herself to helping anyone in need and her life radiated throughout her care. She fulfilled her career by landing a position as a Labor and Delivery nurse. In 2006 she married Lee Lynch which was followed by the birth of their son Brandon Lynch. Shelly then concluded her nursing career in 2007 from Madera Community Hospital. Upon her retirement, she became a fulltime mom, and her main focus was the care of her family.
Shelly shared a passion of cooking and baking with both of her children and family. She had a way of making all of her recipes with love. Shelly’s food always brought smiles and delight to anyone who tried them. Shelly cherished and appreciated the outdoors. She loved to listen to the birds sing in the morning and to watch the weather, rain or shine. Most importantly Shelly loved being in the presence of family laughing, joking and always reminiscing about memories.
Shelly is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Holger and Allie Johansen, Grandfather Joye Ogletree and Uncle Frankie Ogletree.
Shelly is survived by her husband Lee Lynch, daughter Megan Johansen and her partner Matthew Muro, son Brandon Lynch, grandmother Margie Ogletree, parents John and Joyce Johansen, brother Eric Johansen and his wife Stefanie, brother Keith Johansen and his wife Machelle. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 N Teilman Ave, Fresno CA 93706.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday May 15, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park
