Mary Lou (Bunny) Wilcock, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, passed on May 15, 2024 with family by her side at the age of 92. Bunny was born on September 5, 1931 in San Mateo, California to the late Stephen Tinker and Lucia Kilduff Tinker. She grew up in Redwood City, California, then moved to Pioche for a few years after marrying Ed Drake. It was there she gave birth to her first two sons, Tom and Dave. Tragically, Ed passed when the boys were babies. A family friend, Cyril Wilcock, stepped in to help. They fell in love, were married, and moved to Henderson. Their third son, Alan, soon joined the family. Bunny lived in Henderson for the next 70 years. She worked a few interesting jobs then settled in with the school district for 30 years until she retired from Burkholder Junior High as their registrar. Bunny was a long-time member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and played the organ during Mass for many years. She was a devout Catholic, and her husband, Cy, was a member of the LDS faith. She was involved with both churches and welcomed whomever came to her door. Bunny was fond of traditions and loved to bring her family together for holidays. We all spent many a Christmas Eve, Easter, and Thanksgiving at their home on Wyoming Street. She was an avid and talented bowler and served as secretary of her bowling league for several years. Bunny enjoyed camping and after losing her husband, Cy, continued that hobby loading up and hitching the trailer on her own and taking off to various campsites to meet friends and family. She loved to travel taking trips to the north-eastern states, California, Canada, Alaska, Italy, and Greece. She was fortunate to meet another love later in life, Tony, who became her companion and partner for several years until he passed. Bunny was a tough and resilient lady with a generous heart and a strong will. She was blessed to have lived a full life filled with love, laughter, and adventures. Bunny will forever be remembered by her sons: Tom Drake (Karen) and Dave Drake (Debra); daughter-in-law Connie Wilcock; grandchildren: Angela (Rick), Pamela (Bob), David, Susan, John, Taryn (Jerrod) and Matthew (Val); and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands John “Ed” Drake and Cyril “Cy” Wilcock; her youngest son, Raymond Alan Wilcock; her parents, Stephen Tinker and Lucia Kilduff Tinker; brother, Tom Tinker; and sister, Martha Reynick. A Memorial Service will be held on May 30th, 9:00 a.m. at Palm Mortuary, on Boulder Highway in Henderson. A Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m., St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Boulder Highway, Henderson. Interment will be at noon back at Palm Mortuary.
