John William Parsons (Bill) passed from this life to meet his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2024 at the age of 99 in Katy, TX. He was born to William and Bess Parsons on August 10, 1924, in Wellsville, Ohio. During WW II, Bill enlisted in the Army Air Force at 18 where he served as a waist gunner on a B-17 Bomber. After his plane was shot down over Nazi Poland, he spent 8 months as a prisoner of war and earned a Purple Heart. While attending Sterling College he met Doris Spear. They were married for 72 years before Doris’s passing in 2020. Gifted as a teacher, Bill served as the high school science teacher at Pine Bluffs High School in Wyoming for 37 years. His faith was important to him, and he was always involved in some capacity at his church. Bill supported his family faithfully in prayer and godly counsel, and contributed his labor and finances to his family’s needs and projects as he was able. He was preceded in death by Doris Parsons (wife) and Kathryn Parsons (sister). He is survived by son, David Parsons (Jeaneane); daughter, Karen Willingham (Doug); son, Daniel Parsons (Jenel); 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial service to be announced.
