It was truly an honor to know Mike Libs, conduct business with him, and most importantly have him as a friend in this industry for the past 30 years. To say he will be missed in our industry is an understatement. But, what I will miss the most is the way he treated people. The many text messages, emails and calls we shared over the years that were much more than business. When my Dad passed away in 2012, Mike was one of the first to reach out to me in a way of kindness, support, faith and love that I will never forget. Mike was loyal, humble, kind and always made time to be available to discuss business, life and share a bit of humor along the way. My business and career would not be what it is today without the many years of support that Mike provided and I am eternally grateful for his impact on my life. In a selfless manor, Mike wanted everyone that worked with him to be successful and he was a great leader that always had your back. Our industry lost a legend, and we all lost a man of great character that always delivered on his word. My prayers and love are with his family and the RA Libs family. Life well lived Mike! I will miss you!

Our prayers are with your family. Mike was a friend and respected colleague. He will be missed. Mike Kelly

Mike Libs was one of the first people I met as a young Project Manager at Summit Construction. From day one, he was willing to help, offer advice, and share his knowledge as I began building a career in this industry.

When I launched Scott Construction, Mike continued to be a source of encouragement and support. For that, I owe him a debt of gratitude.

While I only knew Mike for about six years, it felt like a lifetime. Construction can be a tough industry. At times it feels cold, lonely, and full of people with an agenda. Mike wasn't like that. He treated everyone the same—whether you were a CEO, a seasoned superintendent, or a laborer on their first day.

More than anything, Mike felt like a true friend in the industry. He was someone I could call to bounce ideas off of, learn from, and lean on while navigating the challenges of construction and business ownership.

I've always believed you can tell a lot about a person by the way they lead and by the people who choose to work for them. Mike's crews reflected exactly who he was: hardworking, honest, fair, and loyal. That kind of respect can't be bought—it has to be earned.

I wish we had more time together. More projects. More conversations. More opportunities to look back on the jobs we built and the lessons learned along the way.

I will always cherish what we built together and the friendship we shared. Thank you for your guidance, your encouragement, and your example.

Until we meet again, Godspeed, my friend.

Our heartfelt condolences to April and the entire family. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with you all. - The Renn family (Susie, Chris, Mary Beth, and Anne)

April and Family, Mike was a gift from God and I know you will miss him very much. On your difficult days rest assured that Mike will become one of your Guardian Angels and provide you comfort and guidance from above. I’ll say a prayer that God welcomed Mike with open arms.

Mike was a great next door neighbor. Always friendly and willing to lend a hand. He used his Bobcat to scrape my driveway clear of snow when shoveling just wasn’t getting it. He even took my Ladybird daughter to a UofL basketball game during one extra snowy winter when driving was scary. Always fun at neighborhood gatherings. He was a great father to his kids. I will keep April, his children and the rest of his family in my prayers during this difficult time.

Mike Libs wasn't just a good friend of mine; he was an integral part of the fabric of my life. We grew up together, side by side through grade school, high school, and college. We were fraternity brothers. Years later, I had the honor of standing beside him as a groomsman on one of the happiest days of his life. For decades, our families shared not only friendships, but history.

Long before Mike and I were creating memories together on the playground, our grandfathers were building foundations together in the concrete business. When Art Libs and Eddie Grantz passed away just one day apart, we laughed through our grief and said that God must have had a huge concrete project in Heaven and needed the pros to come help. Today, I find comfort imagining Art and Eddie welcoming Mike home.

When you've known someone for a lifetime, the memories are endless. But when I think about Mike, one thing shines brighter than anything else, his incredible love for his wife April.

As we mourn the loss of a beloved friend, husband, father, son, and brother, let us also celebrate the remarkable example he set for all of us. Mike showed us what loyalty looks like. He showed us what friendship looks like. Most importantly, he showed us what unconditional love looks like.

God speed. Until we meet again, my friend.
