Lewis Bradley Christian

Born on January 16, 1941, in Poughkeepsie, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Lewis Christian and Virginia (Dusenbury) Christian.

Brad grew up in New York, where he established a fulfilling career as a talented draftsman. He and his beloved wife later relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, where Brad continued to work until his well-earned retirement. After retirement, Brad and Joanne looked for an active community filled with golf, hobbies, and plenty of opportunities to make friends. In 2005, they found exactly that in the Pier Pointe community in the town of Riverbend, North Carolina. It was a transition they cherished deeply, often remarking that moving to Riverbend was the best decision they had ever made.

An avid sports enthusiast, Brad played golf for many years and never missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams while watching car racing, Duke college basketball, and professional golf. Above all, Brad cherished the tight-knit community of friends he built in Riverbend. He truly believed he was the luckiest man alive to be surrounded by such wonderful, caring neighbors. His retirement years were filled with shared laughter during wine nights, community dinners, poker games, and movie dates.

Brad is survived by his loving children, Wayne Christian (and his wife, Jean) and Brian Christian; his two cherished granddaughters, Nicole and Lauren; his brother-in-law, Stephen Kish; and his loveable dog, Holly. He was reunited in death with his beloved spouse, Joanne Christian.

A memorial service to celebrate Brad’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home, located at 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28560. Burial will be Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, New York.
