Norm was my friend and father-in-law.    I think of him when I see home grown tomatoes, vegetable gardens and roses.  He shared his love of  his home state of Alaska and his adopted state of Hawaii with me. He valued education, fairness, and a shrewd business deal.  He loved his family fiercely and was so proud of them. 
I miss his wry sense of humor and wit and his admiration for the underdog. I miss Friday lunches and meatball sandwiches at Napoli’s Pizza and hot dogs at Costco.  
He was my biggest fan, and staunchest supporter and his death leaves a void in my soul.  

I grew up listening to stories Gramps would tell, places he’d been, projects he’d worked on, things he’d seen. He was a doer. He instinctively was curious - wanted to make things better. Run smoother. But more than that, he was open to anything, to anyone. Even up to the end, he loved talking... learning more about my new car, skating... or whatever adventure I was up to then.  Not only was he incredible, but he did an amazing job of supporting others. I will miss you Gramps! 

Norman was my “other” dad. My dad’s best friend for years, he treated me like his own after my dad disappeared from my life. His quiet and calm manner and sweet words and gestures made me feel loved. I’ll miss him. Condolences to his family.

I am honored to have walked into the Ream family and to have known Norm. I wish I'd met him years ago and been able to hear all the stories from his life of adventure .

I was blessed to have Norman Ream as my uncle, my mother's brother. She adored him, always looked up to him, and he was always there for her. Even during her last years when she was in a nursing home, he would come to visit regularly even though driving was getting challenging for him. We enjoyed many family holiday meals together, he was always so thoughtful, kind, and generous. Norm had such a zest for life, we shared passions for snow skiing, scuba diving, and flying, and he was always interested in what was going on in other's lives.  He opened his condo in Hawaii for me to visit, of which I have many fond memories. I have known him over 60 years, and can't help but smile when remembering him with love.  

Norm was inspirational, continuing to work on projects long past the time most people decide they have done enough.  One thing that stands out that I will remember about Norm is the quick decision making he could produce after so many years of experience. I admired the way he knew what he wanted done.

I feel fortunate that I had the opportunity to get to know Norm. We leased space at his office and I saw Norm several times a week for the last several years. Norm was always easy to be around, and always greeted people warmly, and was happy, even eager, to share in conversation.
It is hard to imagine, but Norm came to the office nearly every day until he was 95.
I thoroughly enjoyed it when Norm would share about his past, Norm had many memories to share. When you look around the shop and offices, you can tell there wasn't much Norm didn't know, hadn't done, or hadn't been.
I think Norm was blessed, and I think all he knew and loved were blessed by his presence, I know I was.
