She was surrounded by her loving family, following a 50-year battle with lupus.
Diane was born in Britt, Iowa, later relocating to Webster City, Iowa, where she attended Webster City High School, graduating in 1974.
She worked part time while putting herself through college - attending Iowa Central Community College, Buena Vista College, and Drake University earning her Masters of Business Administration, as well her CPA and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
Diane met the love of her life, Tom Kurt, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. They married August 31st, 1975 in Webster City. Diane and Tom moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1981 where she worked for the State of Iowa. As a Portfolio Manager, she worked for Equitable of Iowa before retiring as a Vice President at ING. After retiring, she started her own investment firm, Waterbury Park. Diane was a member of Toastmasters, judged college debate teams, and served on several finance committees. She was the assistant coordinator for the Des Moines Marathon.
Diane was extremely active, despite her condition. She loved to travel the country with Tom in their RV, making many friends all over the country. She enjoyed biking, swimming, hiking, white water rafting, snorkeling, and traveling all over the world. Her greatest joy was spending time with Tom and planning and coordinating family functions, as her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed creating stained glass, glass fusion, making ceramics, lapidary, teaching computer classes, photo club, and tennis club. Diane was also the founder of Team Tom Kurt - orchestrating his marathon fan club.
She is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Ardys Park and son-in-law Richard Griglione II.
Diane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom Kurt, her daughter Joni (Matt) Griglione-Masters, sisters: Glenda (Robert) Timm, Joyce (Tom) Morgan, Karen (Ron) Sjullie, brother Bruce (Janice) Park, grandchildren Gracey Griglione, Richard Griglione III, Rosabella Griglione, Zachary Masters, and Tyler Masters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
