Tony was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 8, 1930 to Carl and Rosa Lombardo, their only child.
At age three, the family moved to Sicily where they raised Tony until he moved to the United States at age 21. Tony entered the U.S. Army where he served honorably in Europe. Upon discharge from the Army, Tony moved to Michigan and attended Barber College. He barbered with a friend at his friend's shop. Later, he had saved enough to go on his own and opened his shop in 1961. During this time he met and married Antoinette on June 1, 1957. They made their home in Detroit, where they raised their three children, later moved to Canton. He maintained and operated his Barber Shop for 60 years until the age of 89. When he wasn't working he enjoyed the quiet solitude of oil painting. He also thrived on spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren with various trips and vacations. Tony also spent some time golfing with friends and "meeting the breakfast group" before work most days. Tony lived a life of great humor, kindness, and generosity. He loved being around people, being social, and making friends wherever he went.
Tony is survived by his wife of 64 years, Antoinette (nee: Palmeri); son, Carl (Fran) Lombardo; daughters, RoseAnne (Tony) Russo and Maria Lombardo; grandchildren, Tony Lombardo, Julia Lombardo (Chris), Robert Russo, Andriana Russo, Reno Russo.
