Helen Gauss Hill left this world on Sunday, October 26th to start her eternal life in heaven. She was born on August 11, 1915 in Florence, Montana to John Adam and Olive Calista Gauss. Later she moved to Sinton, Texas where she met and married John Hill, her husband of 41 years. They lived there on their farm until John passed in 1977. She played an active part in farm life while raising 5 children.
She was a member of the Taft First United Methodist Church. She served on various committees, taught Sunday school, volunteered at the Resale Shop and was a member of the Methodist Women. She was a Pink Lady at the Taft Hospital, a docent at the Blackland Museum, a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Busy Bee Club. She also received the Taft Humanitarian award in 1999.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Hill, son Charles Hill and daughter-in-law Ella Hill. She is survived by her son J.T. of Oregon, son Allen (Beth) of Kentucky, son Roy (Susan) of Houston and daughter Peggy (Joe) of Taft. Also 8 grandchildren: Kenny, Sheri, Meridee, Christy, Misty, Sarah, Melanie and Shelley. Also 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also her special feline friends, Baby and Whitey.
She loved to travel, play April Fool's jokes, dress up as Santa at Christmas and also scary costumes on Halloween. She loved eating all the chocolate she could get her hands on.

Visitation will be at the Taft First United Methodist Church on the evening of Tuesday, October 28th from 5-7pm. The service will be also be at the Taft First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 29th at 10am, followed by the burial at the Taft Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Taft First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or Taft First United Methodist Resale Shop.
