Lorine Belle Jones Lippard, 97, of Levelland passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in Levelland. Family visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 5:30-7:30 pm at George Price Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 10:00 am in First United Methodist Church. Lorine was born in Oklahoma City on April 7, 1919 to Edwin and Sallie Jones. She had two older brothers Virgil Jones and Thomas Jones. She attended schools in Oklahoma City, at Oklahoma University, and Oklahoma City University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music. Lorine served as church organist for over 40 years. She taught piano, organ, and public school music for over 30 years. She served as President of Texas Classroom Teachers, President of Delta Kappa Gamma and President of Dawson County Retired Teachers. She served many years on the Hockley County Senior Citizen Board. She enjoyed teaching Bible studies at the Senior Citizens and retirement homes. Lorine loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and cherished her family and friends. Lorine married Jacob Lippard in Oklahoma City on August 24, 1941, and had two daughters, Janice Lippard Morris and Judy Lippard Holcomb. She was pre-ceded in death by her parents, brothers, her husband Jake Lippard, and daughter, Janice Morris. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Holcomb and husband Mark of Levelland; son-in-law, Dr. Scott Morris of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Trent Holcomb and wife Pia, Todd Holcomb and wife Traci, and Lori Morris Abernathy and husband John; seven great grandchildren two nephews; and two nieces. The family wants to thank Dr. Daphine O’Reilly and her staff, the nurses at Levelland Covenant Hospital, and for Interim Hospice for giving such excellent and loving care.
