On Sunday, March 8, Paulette Suddreth Cofer, peacefully passed away surrounded by her faithful and loving family. The halls of Heaven welcomed her strong spirit with open arms, and the sky has certainly gained a wonderful star. For all that were fortunate to know her, Paulette is remembered as one of the sweetest and kindest people to walk this Earth. Her fiercest oath was an unconditional loving commitment to family, coupled with a fearless can-do attitude. By her side through thick and thin for 47+ years, Paulette is survived by her loyal and caring husband Thomas Edward Cofer “Ed”. Also surviving are her mother, Helen Glaze Suddreth “Maw Maw”. Aunt: Margaret Suddreth Padgett. Three children: Thomas Edward Cofer Jr. “Ace”, Charlotte Cofer Whisenhunt “Shelle”, Calvin Clayton Cofer “Clay”. Eight grandchildren: Wright, Banks, Calvin, Lucy, Maverick, Thomas, Wells, Riggs. Two brothers: Scobey Glaze Suddreth, Scott Eugene Suddreth. Countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Paulette and lovingly ready to greet her at the gates of Heaven, were her father: John Henry Suddreth, and older brother John Henry Suddreth Jr.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and medical staff that have helped provide for Paulette through her battle with kidney disease. We also wish to thank the outpouring of support from family and friends. Paulette’s story does not end here, death is part of the journey we all must take. Those we love never really die; they just leave before us. We will see her again when our time comes to walk the same path. Until then, rest in peace sweet lady.
Graveside service will be held at 1pm., Monday, March 16, at Oakdale Cemetery in Wilmington.
