Luisa (Tita, as she was fondly known by friends and relatives) is survived by her children, Patricia Beliso and her husband Tony who live in Fort Myers, Florida, David Lippincott and his son Stuart, her grandson, who both live in Chicago, Illinois, and Harold Lippincott who lives in San Francisco, California. She also leaves behind her companion of many years, Gene Pronicki.
Tita had a very close relationship with her sister Rosario’s and brother Ramon’s children. They were part of her close-knit family when she lived in the Philippines. She also had cousins in the Philippines, Australia and the U.S. that she grew up with and who were part of her extended family.
Tita was born in the Philippines where she lived as a young girl through World War II where so many families suffered the hardships of occupation. The time she experienced in the war was permanently imbedded in her memory and contributed to her zeal for appreciating life. Shortly after the war she moved to San Francisco to finish her high school education after which she returned to the Philippines to be with family.
Tita and her husband Arthur Lippincott, the father of her three children, were married 38 years. They met and married in the Philippines where he had a successful career as an insurance executive for a company that he cofounded. They moved to Fort Myers upon his retirement. Arthur passed away a few years after his retirement, in 1988. She married Robert (Gerry) Sutter several years later. Gerry passed away in 2004.
When Luisa and Arthur first arrived in Fort Myers, although the culture in Florida was quite different from what she was used to in the Philippines, Tita quickly took steps to assimilate to her new surroundings by meeting others, playing golf, practicing Tai Chi, playing bridge and volunteering for charitable organizations. She enjoyed traveling, played wonderful piano and was a graceful dancer. She loved the company of friends and family. She was effortlessly elegant in the way she interacted with others.
Her beautiful infectious smile which made everyone feel comfortable will always be remembered by those who knew her.
Tita was a devout Catholic and regularly attended mass at the Church of the Resurrection.
A mass in her memory will be held on Wednesday, November 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection located at 8121 Cypress Lake Drive in Fort Myers.
