Mika Darakshani Motes, 54, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away February 7, 2021 at home. She was a member of Concord Christian Church and a 1984 graduate of Farragut High School where she was awarded the Best Dressed Superlative. Mika graduated with a BS in Finance from the University of Tennessee in 1988 and went on to receive her MBA from Georgia State in 1996. She worked for IDI in Atlanta for 23 years, serving as Vice President from 2003-2015 and was a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and CPA since 1998.
Mika loved running the Peachtree Road Race and vacationing on 30A in Florida and Hilton Head with her family. She loved being in Book Club when she retired. She loved Persian food and was a frequent guest at the Persian restaurants around town.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Motes; children, Brayden Motes (16) and Addison Motes (13); parents, Kami and Judy Darakshani; sister, Kembree Darakshani Brown (Tony Brown); brother, Kamron Darakshani; nieces and nephew, Brenner, Bijou and Bahar Brown; step-children, Cheri Urie (Daniel), David Motes, Robert Motes, Josh Motes (Tabetha); step-grandchildren; Destiny, Delanie, Landon, Alexi, Whitaker, Charles and Madeline (deceased).
The family would like to thank all the special caregivers for their years of service and care.
There will be a Visitation from 1:00pm - 1:30pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 1:30pm on February 20, 2021 at Berry Highland West, 9913 Sherrill Blvd, Knoxville, TN 37932. Reverend Luther Robinson will officiate the service.
