Michael was born May 11, 1945 in Yonkers, NY to Michael Senitta Sr. and Helen (Krenza) Senitta. He received his master’s degree from Iona College. He worked for the United States department of energy in Princeton, NJ and Riverhead, NY. He was also a tax accountant.
On June 24, 1967 he married Leona Kulaga and they raised their 3 children, Annette, Elaine and Michael-John.
Michael enlisted in the Army in 1966 and served his country proudly as a helicopter pilot. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war. Michael loved to play golf with his brothers and friends and had many golf outings. He was also an avid gardener and Giants fan. He was known for his quick wit, his loving smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or an ear to just listen. Even his small acts of kindness made big impacts in people’s lives. He was a man among men.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael Sr. and his mother, Helen. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Leona, his 3 children, Annette, Elaine and Michael-John, his brothers Thomas and Paul, his granddaughter Charlotte, daughter in law Daniela and countless friends and family.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at St. John the Baptist RC Church on Yonkers Ave.
In lieu of flowers a donation in his name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
