Ismael Telles was born on February 25, 1922 in Ysleta, Texas to Isidro and Antonia L. Telles. Raised in Ysleta, he attended Ysleta High School Class of 1941, where he played on the basketball and track teams.
In 1942, he married Margarita Madrid, “the love of his life”. Together for 66 years, they raised five children.
He retired after 36 years of Federal Service from Fort Bliss, Texas. He served as a warehouse supervisor for the Army Food Service and Dry Storage. He received numerous awards, accommodations and certificates of achievements from the Department of the Army.
Survived by his loving family, Lupe Pino (Frank), Bertha Pedregon (Gilbert+), Antonio Telles (Alicia), Martha McCary (Mark), and Meinda Kruegar, close friend (Shane).
Grandchildren Frank II, Lori, Peter, Yvonne, Marco, Mario, Jose Luis, Christina, Christopher, Zachary, Travis, and 25 great-grandchildren including a nephew and several nieces.
Preceded in death by his parents, Margarita (wife), Eloy Telles (brother), Gilbert Pedregon (son-in-law) and fishing buddy.
Dad was the most loving and kind person you could ever meet. Always ready to give someone a helping hand.
He had a delightful sense of humor, always knowing which buttons to push to get you to react, where he would turn, wink his eye, and laugh.
We will forever miss you Pop!
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 9 a.m. with Vigil Service at 9:30 a.m. and Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Frank Pino, Peter Pedregon, Marco Telles, Mario Telles, Jose Louis Telles, and Christopher McCary. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
