Aaltje (Vis) Rovers, 90, of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2016. She was born in Holland, a daughter of the late, Wijnand and Eefje (van Poelgeest) Vis. Aaltje was a member of the First Congregational Church of Glastonbury and worked as a Seamstress at the former Shop of West Hartford, Hartford Store. Aaltje enjoyed traveling and traveled extensively to Holland, New Zealand, Egypt, Spain, Greece and Switzerland to name a few countries. She also was fond the breakfast group of her retired friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted son Cornelis Rovers Jr. of Glastonbury, one grandson, Wijnand C. Rovers of Framingham, MA, six siblings in Holland and one in New Zealand. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelis Rovers Sr. in 1980 and her son Wijnand L. Rovers in 1997. She will be fondly remembered and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be Monday December 5, 2016 at 11AM at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, CT. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery in Glastonbury. A visiting hour will proceed the service at the funeral home from 10AM-11AM on Monday.
