À Montréal, le 18 mars, est décédé Jean-Cléo Godin, professeur émérite au Département d’études françaises à l’Université de Montréal, des suites de complications intestinales liées à un cancer. Spécialiste du théâtre québécois, il est l’auteur (en collaboration avec Laurent Mailhot) de l’ouvrage de référence Le théâtre québécois (I et II) et il a été membre fondateur de l'Association canadienne de la recherche théâtrale et de la Société d'histoire du théâtre du Québec. Il a également publié trois romans autobiographiques.
Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Michèle Gervais et ses enfants François (Marc Meilland), Christian (Danielle Landry) et Nicolas (Julie Lapointe), son frère Georges, ses petits-enfants Antoine, Julien et Simon Godin-Landry, ainsi que Noémie et Guillaume Nonez. Il manquera aussi à son grand ami Joao di Fonseca et à de nombreux autres amis et collègues.
La famille recevra les condoléances une heure avant les funérailles, qui auront lieu le samedi 6 avril à 13 h 30 en l’église Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, située au 5333 avenue Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, à Montréal.
